Your photo and your camera

If you take a photo or upload one, it's processed on your own device, inside your browser. It is never uploaded to a server — this site has no server that receives photos.

If you use the camera, it stops as soon as you take the photo. The photo itself is released from memory right after it's been analyzed — before your result is shown — whether the analysis succeeds or fails.

Refreshing or closing the page clears your measurements and result. It doesn't clear the analysis files described below, which stay cached so the tool starts faster next time.

Camera access is optional. You only need it if you choose to take a photo. Uploading a photo, or answering the quiz instead, never asks for camera access.

If you use the quiz instead of a photo, your answers are never sent anywhere either — they're used on your device only, the same way a photo would be.

Biometric data

This site does not collect or retain biometric data. The face measurements used to work out a face shape are calculated on your device and are gone as soon as you close the page. They are not stored, not linked to you, and not used to identify anyone.

What gets downloaded, and what's cached

The first time you use the photo tool, your browser downloads about 15.8 MB of analysis files — the face-measurement model and the code that runs it — from this site's own servers. No third-party site is involved in that download.

Your browser stores those files in its Cache Storage so it doesn't need to download them again on your next visit. Cache Storage on this site holds only those analysis files — never your photo or your result.

Network requests

The face-measurement library this site uses is published by Google and has a built-in feature that reports anonymous usage statistics to Google's servers — things like how long a measurement took and which version of the library ran, never your photo or the points it calculates. This site's browser security policy blocks that specific request, so it is never sent.

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views in aggregate. It works without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.

Other than Cloudflare Web Analytics, every request your browser makes goes to this site's own address: the pages themselves, their scripts, styles and font, the analysis files described above, and — only if you upload a HEIC photo your browser can't open — an image decoder (about 2 MB). None of these requests carries your photo, your measurements, your quiz answers, or your result.
